A prominent case of selection bias

In a recent issue of the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine,1 Joseph Morley et al.,2 Marc S Micozzi and Kim Jobst3 launched a three-armed and well-orchestrated ad hominem attack against Edzard Ernst. This resulted in many ‘letters to the Editor’ published in a subsequent issue of that journal. These letters seem to be highly selective – FACT knows of 10 more such letters received and acknowledged by Dr Jobst but not published. All of these letters defended the position of Professor Ernst and accused Dr Jobst of bias. The authors of these letters include the most prominent CAM researchers worldwide.
