Foundation of the International Society for Complementary Medicine Research

On November 22nd 2003, the International Society for Complementary Medicine Research was founded during the 10th Annual Symposium on Complementary Health Care in London. The new society aims to be ‘a multidisciplinary scientific organisation to foster the development and dissemination of new knowledge regarding whole person healing and whole systems healthcare research, including traditional, holistic, alternative, complementary, and integrative forms of medicine.’

Its goals are to:

Membership is open to any individual whose interests are consistent with the purpose and goals of the organisation. Anyone interested in joining should contact the society’s secretary, Dr Sara Warber (swarber@med.umich.edu).
