Warning on use of ginseng products in pregnancy

Researchers from Hong Kong have warned women about using ginseng products during pregnancy. They tested ginsenoside Rb 1, one of the principal active ingredients of ginseng, on rat embryos and found that major organs did not develop normally. This is again another reminder that women should seek medical advice before taking herbal supplements during pregnancy.
