British High Court action on food supplements

The Health Food Manufacturers Association and the National Association of Health Stores, supported by Consumers for Health Choice, have won the latest round of their legal battle to stop the implementation of the EU Food Supplements Directive 2002/46/EC, which would have seen the banning of thousands of vitamins and food supplements from sale in British health food stores. The High Court in London ruled that the legal challenge should be referred to the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg, which alone has the power to quash an EU Directive.
