Acupuncture needles ahoy!

Luxury cruise line Celebrity Cruises has recently become the first cruise line to offer acupuncture on board their ships. After running a pilot acupuncture programme in autumn 2003 it is now expanding their ‘Acupuncture at Sea’ programme and offers the services of two to four acupuncturists on half of the ships in their fleet. Treatments are centred on pain management, smoking cessation, weight-loss and stress management. In addition to treating customers, the acupuncturists will also be presenting free lectures on acupuncture, feng shui, nutrition and herbs.
