Objective

To summarise and critically assess the existing evidence of the effects of Ginkgo biloba preparations on blood coagulation.

Materials and methods

Systematic literature searches were conducted using Medline (via PubMed), Embase, Amed, Cinahl, the Cochrane Library and HerbMed to identify CCTs that measured at least one blood coagulation parameter. No language restrictions were imposed. Data were also requested from manufacturers of G. biloba preparations.

Results and conclusions

Data analysis is currently underway and the results will be presented in due course.
