Traditional Chinese medicine enters German universities

Three German universities are founding new departments of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). In Hamburg, a new TCM institute is being established, including a professorship and several new posts for physicians who will be trained by specialists of the TCM-University in Shanghai. At the University of Essen-Duisburg, a chair for TCM research has been founded. The University of Mainz has created a professorship for a colleague from its Chinese twin region and is planning to integrate TCM into the regular curriculum for medical students.
