This book summarises the evidence on stimulant, cognitive-enhancing, sedative and anxiolytic herbs as well as herbs for mental illness, herbal painkillers and herbal hallucinogens. It also includes items that we often fail to see as herbs, e.g. tobacco or the coffee plant. The author is a most authoritative scientist and researcher with decades of experience in this area. The text is well written, concise and factual. With over 30 pages of bibliography it is well referenced. In my view, this is an outstanding summary of plant-based psychoactive drugs and should be added to the essential reading list on this subject.
