Lucinda G Miller (1957–2007)

Lucinda Miller died aged 49 from cancer in May. Lucinda was an acclaimed scientist in the field of herbal medicine, particularly of herbal medicinals used for psychiatry and neurology. She obtained her doctorate degree in pharmacy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, USA. She also graduated at West Texas A & M University in professional counselling. Lucinda wrote or edited more than 100 publications including Herbal Medicinals: a Clinicians Guide and received around US$0.5 million in research grants in her professional career as well as copyright, patent and teaching awards. She served on the faculties of the University of Houston College of Pharmacy, Baylor College of Medicine Department of Family Medicine (Houston), Methodist Hospital (Houston) and the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She was a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the Texas Counselling Association. She was also a long-standing member of FACT’s international editorial board.
