How to use MedicinesComplete

  1. How do I log out?

To log out, close your Internet browser application.

There is no need to log out whilst using MedicinesComplete. If you have already logged in, you can log in again with a different account. Simply complete the Log in screen and the previous account will be logged out.

Personal accounts will be automatically logged out after 15 minutes of inactivity. Click the Log in button and log in to resume access.

Multi-user accounts with login-free access will not log out.

  2. Can I log in with more than one account?

Yes. If you access MedicinesComplete via a Multi-user account you can also log in with a Personal account. However, if you log in with a second Personal account the first Personal account will log out automatically.

  3. Can I download publication content?

No. The content of all publications is the copyright of Pharmaceutical Press and downloading information is prohibited by the terms and conditions of your subscription license. Attempting to download content will result in slow system response times and may lead to the account being disabled and your subscription terminated.

  4. Can I print a section of publication content?

No. The content of each publication page can be printed using the Print button in the toolbar at the top of each page. However, multiple pages cannot be selected and printed as a section.

  5. Can I access search result pages without subscribing to the associated publication?

No. There is no pay per page viewed option. At present it is necessary to subscribe or to trial a publication in order to view its contents from the search page.

  6. Can I subscribe to a publication when my trial account has expired?

Yes. Although you will not be able to access any publication content, you will be able to log in to your trial account and buy an annual Personal-user license online for any MedicinesComplete publication. Use the email address you used to register the account with the current password. Access will be provided on confirmation of your payment details by your Regional Sales Team. Continue to use the same account (same email and password) to access the content for subscribed publications.

  7. Can I access publication content without having to log in?

Yes. Users that set up a multi-user account can arrange for a number of different access methods to be implemented.

    • Login-free access can be provided using a fixed/static IP address range or domain name registered with the multi-user account.
    • The Institution may implement an API that allows self-authentication with MedicinesComplete’s single sign-on service on their server. The API is available on application to the Pharmaceutical Press Sales Team (available for free download from the MedicinesComplete website, see the Downloads menu option).
    • Users can be authenticated via Athens or Shibboleth if they are used by your organisation. To enable this, you must give your organisation’s Athens IDs and/or security domain details to Sales, who will then be able to set-up this service for you.

  8. Can I get a discount for multi-user subscriptions?

A range of multi-user discounts are available. Please contact your MedicinesComplete Sales team for further information.

  9. What has happened to the Frames display option?

The Frames display option is no longer available. We deliver MedicinesComplete on a wide range of platforms, Internet browsers and PDAs and it is becoming an increasingly more impractical to support this option. Considerable effort has been put into improving the No Frames method of navigation around the website and publication content and this is now the only option supported. We are aware that some users prefer the Frames option, but the numbers are very small and we would like to apologise for any inconvenience the withdrawal of this option may cause.

  10. I have changed my email address, how do I change my Personal account user name?

It is not possible to do this online. However, you can still log in with your old email address and password and continue to use MedicinesComplete. The password reset feature uses your account name (email address) to enable you to reset your password and this will no longer work when you cancel your old email account. If you forget your password, you will need to contact your Regional Sales Team and they will amend it or set up a new account for you. For security reasons they will need proof of your identity and may ask to call you back on your registered telephone number.

If you renew a publication subscription through your Regional Sales Team, they will be able to create a new account and transfer any on-going subscriptions at the same time.
