How to move around a publication

A set of links is provided at the top of each screen to help you navigate around a publication.

The top line shows the location of the document within the hierarchy. This is known as a 'breadcrumb trail'.

Home > Martindale: The Complete Drug Reference > Drugs and Ancillary Substances > By therapeutic use > Antibacterials

Each entry in the breadcrumb trail acts as a link to a more general document, sub-section, or the publication's home page.

The top line has links to the previous and next document in the hierarchy

Previous page and Next page

Leave the cursor over the link for a moment to see the title of the document.

The

link can be used to find articles on a similar topic in other publications on MedicinesComplete. This gives a more specific result than conducting a search across all publications.

If the screen contains a document displayed as the result of a search, this section will also show the links:

Next results

  • Use Return to search to return to your list of search results.
  • Use Hide highlighting to see the document without highlighting when you have finished with the search
  • Use Previous result to see the previous document from your list of search results.
  • Use Next results to see the next document from your list of search results.

Notes:

The Previous page and Next page links are also available at the bottom of the screen.

Once you choose Hide highlighting, the link will change to Show highlighting to allow you to turn the highlighting for the current search terms on again. The Return to search link will remain available. Alternatively, use the Back button on your browser to return to the search results list. Selecting a document will highlight the search terms as usual.

The first link in the breadcrumb trail is always Home and will take you to the MedicinesComplete home page.

The second link in the breadcrumb trail is always to the publication's home page, giving you access to the contents list to allow you to browse the contents.
