Document display

This displays the complete text of the document you have selected.

At the top of the page, the breadcrumb trail gives the position of the document in the hierarchy and there are links to the previous and next documents. There is also a Related articles link that performs a search for the same topic in other publications on MedicinesComplete.

Links at the bottom of the screen allow you to move quickly back to the top of the document, or to the previous and next documents in the hierarchy.

Long documents often have links to sub-sections at the beginning to allow you to jump straight to the relevant place. These work in the same way as the contents list. Links to the top level of each sub-section are also available from the Contents tab at the left of the screen. For more information, see Moving around a document.

If the document has been displayed in response to a search, the search terms ('hits') are highlighted. If two or more search terms have been entered, a different colour is used to highlight different hits. If the search included drug synonyms (e.g. paracetamol/acetaminophen), those terms will be highlighted in the same colour.

In addition to the standard links, in a document retrieved by a search there are also links to the previous and next hits in the results list, a link to the full search results list, and a link to hide or show the highlighting.
